Nova

The new news and entertainment portal www.tn.cz, which television Nova wants to launch in the near future (on 5th May), has ambitious plans to become one of the three largest players on the Czech website market within one year. The leading position currently belongs to the Seznam.cz group, which is followed by the Centrum.cz, Atlas.cz and iDnes portals.

Seznam.cz

The largest Czech Internet portal, www.seznam.cz, is allegedly for sale. According to two credible sources, majority shareholder and owner Ivo Lukačovič and minority shareholders Tiger Holding Four and Miura International are selling their stakes. Lukačovič has denied the sale. He did however state that a prospectus to address potential interested parties should be prepared within two months. Investment bank Goldman Sachs has been entrusted with organizing the sale.

The latest hot news concerning seznam.cz hint that the sale has apparently already begun. Potential tender participants have already been sworn to secrecy, a step that precedes the receipt of the information prospectus.
